National Information Center on
Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) - located at the
National Library of Medicine the Center works closely with the Agency for Health Care
Policy and Research to improve the dissemination of the results of health services

recommendation by the Governors Rural Health Task Force. A division of the Illinois
Department of Public Health (IDPH), the Center was mandated and funded by legislative
action to enhance the health status of rural citizens. The Centers goal is to
improve community involvement in health issues. The Center also serves as an information
clearinghouse on rural health issues.
National Farm Medicine Center
(NFMC) is a not-for-profit program of Marshfield Medical Research Foundation,
a division of Marshfield Clinic. Established in 1981, NFMC addresses the disease and
injury problems of the nations farmers, ranchers, and others in industries related
