CULTURE & SOCIAL PERSPECTIVES

Rural culture is not readily identified or understood by "newcomers". Providers need to understand the traditions, values, and informal communication systems intrinsic to a rural community. Social problems are often handled differently in rural populations and creative solutions are often needed when resources are scarce.
